The partnership agreement was signed by USAID’s BEACON Chief of Party John Garrity and APNIC Foundation Chief Executive Duncan Macintosh on November 14, 2022, in Makati City. Under the partnership, USAID’s BEACON and APNIC Foundation will provide best and current technical practices and expertise and apply appropriate technologies to support partner government agencies’ networks. BEACON and APNIC Foundation will provide technical assistance on education, infrastructure and network development, and information security to promote internet development in the Philippines.

The partnership will also champion gender equality in the internet industry by promoting women for leadership roles and explore funding opportunities for digital infrastructure investments.
