ARLINGTON, January 7, 2018 – Nathan Associates announced today that Eamon Cassidy has been promoted to Managing Director of UK Operations, effective immediately.  In his new role, Cassidy will oversee all UK operations and will report to Nathan’s President and CEO, Sue Chodakewitz.

In this new role for Cassidy, he will oversee and lead the development of Nathan’s current International Development portfolio along with expanding and deepening its five-core practice areas within international development: private sector development; financial sector development; trade and logistics; women’s economic empowerment; and economic policy and governance.

Cassidy brings more than 30 years of experience in development, trade and economic growth. He has worked as an economist, headed large and complex country operations and represented the UK at senior levels overseas. For more than two decades, Cassidy has worked with the UK Department for International Development (DFID), first as an economic advisor in London, Malawi, and Zimbabwe and later as Country Director in Mozambique and Nigeria. Subsequently, Cassidy headed the UK Government’s cross-departmental Trade Policy Unit, responsible for pursuing UK interests in international trade negotiations, and also for helping developing countries to participate more in international trade.

Also, Cassidy will also play a critical role broadening the current portfolio of Nathan in the UK by leveraging the skills and qualifications of Nathan’s litigation & expert services, advisory services, and infrastructure business lines.

Cassidy takes over the role from Mark Thomas, who served in the Managing Director role for almost four years.  Mark remains with the firm and will transition to a Senior Vice President role focused on technical delivery and strategic capture.
