ARLINGTON, November 17 – On Tuesday, November 17, Nathan Vice President, Victoria Waite, participated in a private roundtable discussion on promoting economic growth and development through enhanced trade facilitation and customs modernizations across the Africa continent. The participants, comprised of US government officials from USAID, DFC, State, MCC, and USTDA as well as representatives from the African Export Import Bank, the US and African private sector, business associations, and think tanks, discussed the United States’ whole of government approach to unlocking trade and investment opportunities through US initiatives like the upcoming Prosper Africa Trade and Investment activity.  In addition, participants shared perspectives related to boosting intra-Africa trade through the African Continental Free Trade Area, and the continued need to address trade facilitation, customs, transport infrastructure, and logistics challenges through capacity building and reform to ensure that African businesses are able to achieve economic growth goals regionally and globally.
