Nathan was contracted by the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC) to perform due diligence analysis for a project with Consorcio Azucarero SAC (CASAC) funded by the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC) in Lambayeque, Peru.

CASAC developed a green energy project for sugar cane production, processing, and commercialization. The project included construction of a 500 kilowatt turbo generator fueled by bagasse, the fibrous material left after crushing sugar cane. The corresponding sugar cane plantation was projected to have a daily production capacity of 3,000 metric tons of sugar cane.

Nathan advised the IIC on technical, commercial, financial, and regulatory aspects of the project. Nathan reviewed the projections, construction and operating guidelines, and possible risks. Additionally, Nathan ensured that all plans were technically, financially, and environmentally sustainable and sound.

After Nathan’s due diligence, the CASAC Sugar Cane Biomass Energy Project received credit approval.
