Alan P. Meister, Ph.D., a principal economist at Nathan Associates, recently presented at the 2016 Southern Gaming Summit in Biloxi, Mississippi. The conference brought together gaming industry leaders from across the country for education and networking.

Dr. Meister joined with Jonodev Chaudhuri, chairman of the National Indian Gaming Commission, and Veronica Watters, legislative director of the National Indian Gaming Association, to provide an economic, regulatory, and legal update on Indian gaming.

In Dr. Meister's presentation, he drew from his latest research, the 14th edition of the Indian Gaming Industry Report, to discuss the economic state of Indian gaming, including its historical and recent performance, disparities in performance across the country, and challenges facing the industry.

Over the past 15 years, Dr. Meister has conducted extensive research and analysis of the gaming industry, including Indian gaming, commercial casinos, racinos, card rooms, and online gaming.
