From 1986 through 2007, a cartel of marine hose manufacturers rigged bids to fix the price of marine hose, a flexible rubber hose used in transferring oil between tankers and storage facilities and buoys.

Nathan was retained to analyze the structure of the marine hose industry and the extent to which purchasers in the United States were affected by rigged bids.
