Nathan consultants supported two testifying experts in LaPlant et al. v. The Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company a class action which alleged that Northwestern Mutual violated its contracts with policyholders of fixed flexible premium annuities by altering its method of calculating dividends. The case ultimately settled for $84 million. A Nathan expert also submitted a declaration estimating damages in support of the settlement.
