The Government of Kenya (GOK), as part of its overall PPP Program, identified the Ports Sector as one of the priority infrastructure sectors for PPP investment. To support Ministry of Finance PPP Unit, the PPP Node in the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure (MoTI), and the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) engaged Nathan as an experienced consultant with hands-on government experience to oversee the preparation and financing of ports projects and to provide technical advice to KPA and MoTI.

Nathan provided a range of advisory services to MoTI and KPA in the following areas:

  • Conducted a sectoral diagnostics of the port and maritime transport sector and recommended a likely master plan of developing the port and maritime sector through PPPs
  • Developed a PPP strategy and a Capacity Building Plan for the ports sector
  • Developed Transaction Advisor TORs, including participation in their procurement and management
  • Assisted in the development of Stakeholder Communication Strategy and Implementation
  • Assisted in the development and implementation of safeguards strategies to address social and environmental issues related to transactions
  • Developed and implemented Investor Conferences and Project/Portfolio Road Shows
  • Assessed the capacity requirements of the ports sector and prepare an implementation program

 

 All Projects
