Developed by USAID and the World Bank Foreign Investment Advisory Service (FIAS), the Investor Roadmap is a diagnostic tool that helps developing countries identify and understand the regulatory and administrative constraints (red tape) that hinder commercial activity.

It has been used in more than 50 countries, but policy reform based on findings from roadmap studies have been mixed. To help USAID learn from these experiences, Nathan Associates analyzed accomplishments to determine the future role of roadmap exercises in economic growth initiatives. We conducted assessments in Africa, the Caribbean, Central Asia, and the Middle East.
