This document summarizes trends, opportunities, and gaps observed in a review of how women entrepreneurs in all 21 APEC economies are served, supported, and strengthened through business networks, private sector initiatives, and government services.

The report also highlights good practices discovered in that review, as those practices relate to five priorities for women’s economic empowerment:

(1) access to capital and assets

(2) access to markets

(3) skills, capacity building and health

(4) leadership, voice, and agency

(5) innovation and technology.

Additionally, the report provides recommendations for how the Women’s Entrepreneurship in APEC (WE-APEC) initiative, begun in 2014, can add value to the ecosystem for women’s entrepreneurship.
