ASEAN’s economic ministers have resolved to integrate logistics sectors across member states to boost competitiveness and the efficiency of exporting. Nathan assessed how transport logistics system in member states could be more efficient in linking suppliers and customers, regionally and internationally.

We assessed two of the most important freight corridors in the region the Vientiane to Laem Chabang, corridor, running from Laos to Thailand, and the Danang Port to Mukdaharn corridor, running from Vietnam to Thailand via Sawanakhet in Laos.

Using a diagnostic system, we generated a detailed description of significant problems in the corridors, screened possible remedies, and generated a detailed diagnosis of transport logistics corridors. We also developed principles for facilitating trade, logistics development, and investment, accelerating liberalization of logistics services, promoting ASEAN logistics services providers, and improving the capacity of service providers.
