Under this $5.5 million contract, Nathan is providing technical support services to the U.S. Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) on gender, social inclusion, and poverty reduction in the development and implementation of energy projects for the MCC threshold and compact programs in Kosovo, Nepal, and Senegal.

The compacts, which are at various stages of development, require differing tasks under the umbrella of GSI in the energy sector, including synthesizing existing data and conducting stakeholder consultations to inform compact design, performing GSI assessments of the energy sector in each country, and making recommendations regarding specific activities and approaches for the MCC programs.

Nathan’s country teams are adapting its Gender Assessment Checklist Methodology (GACM) to the energy sector to gather information from a range of perspectives in each country on the challenges and opportunities for women and marginalized groups with regard to the energy sector.
