In 2007, the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles formed a joint task force on the retention and promotion of women layers. In 2008 the join task force hosted a summit to kick off an ongoing, coordinated effort to make Los Angeles a leader in advancing women in the profession.
To commemorate more than a decade of the joint task force, this year’s summit will examine what progress has been made in this effort, and what still needs to be done. At this program, summit participants will engage in a dialogue with each other and with distinguished panelists about the different approaches and strategies firms, companies and government offices are using to promote and retain women lawyers.
The discussion will cover what has worked and what has not, in addition to the ways office leaders can identify and implement those practices that will work with (not against) their culture to help women lawyers advance in greater numbers.
