Ethiopia’s Ministry of Trade and Industry asked Nathan Associates to study the implications of possible World Trade Organization (WTO) membership for Ethiopia’s telecommunications sector. Our team analyzed the global telecommunications service sector as well as the opportunities and challenges faced by Ethiopia to transition the provision of telecommunications services from a monopoly to a competitive market.

We presented various liberalization scenarios under WTO accession and defined their potential impact, using quantitative data, on the Ethiopian telecommunications industry.
