Nathan Associates conducted a due diligence review for the integrated Cutuco Energy Project which consists of the construction and operation of a natural gas terminal, a regasification plant, a 525 MW combined cycle power plant, a desalinization plant, a natural gas pipeline system, and two power transmission lines?one connecting to the national transmission grid (ETESAL) and the other to the Central American Interconnection System (SIEPAC).

Our review focused on engineering, environmental and social impacts, demand and financial analysis, and regulatory and institutional aspects of the project. As with other due diligence reviews, our team identified risks to investors and recommended ways to mitigate that risk.
