Through this USAID-funded project, Nathan is working with the Haiti Administration Générale des Douanes (AGD) to analyze and improve customs operations in the areas of organizational structure, human resources, technology and infrastructure, and operational procedures. In addition, Nathan experts are analyzing customs clearance procedures, identifying ICT needs and procuring required hardware and software to help improve governance and revenue collection and reduce corruption.

Nathan is also actively working with the AGD to ensure that customs operations accommodate gender dimensions of trade and logistics. Nathan has trained several customs officials on trade facilitation measures including enhanced risk management practices and AEO programs. Nathan advisors have also designed and implemented a training-of-trainers program to ensure the long-term sustainability and capacity building.
