The USAID Bangladesh Trade Facilitation Activity aims to bolster economic growth by making cross-border trade efficient. Activities include making trade information transparent, developing an operational national single window, and improving supply chain security. As a subcontractor, Nathan Associates is leading the implementation of a compliance management system that will improve supply chain security.
This system will consist of
- A risk management system that helps customs officer’s distinguish high-risk cargo from low-risk cargo,
- An authorized economic operator program to expedite clearance for companies that meet supply chain security standards,
- A postclearance audit system through which cargo is subject to a risk-based quality control assessment after goods are cleared, and
- A national trade and customs consultative committee led by the private sector.
