Nathan Associates, which manages the ASEAN Single Window (ASW) Project, has selected Axway’s to provide the software solution that will simplify and expedite the processing of import, export, and transit data in seven of the ten member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Single window technology linking the customs processes of multiple countries will improve trade logistics and lower transaction costs, making member states more attractive to manufacturers and traders and boosting regional trade capacity. Member states participating in the pilot program include Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The Axway software solution will integrate well with legacy systems and be readily scalable when other member states join the ASW. This regional architecture connects individual countries’ national single windows so that companies and traders can submit import, export and transit data once, streamlining the entire trade process and reducing the cost of doing business.

To ensure a secure and efficient means for communicating among national single windows, the ASW Project is also helping member states harmonize and standardize data used in processing and clearing shipments. The ASW project is supported by USAID and the U.S. Department of State under the ADVANCE program, which is also managed by Nathan Associates.
