Superior Court of the State of California (2011)

In relation to California Cartwright Act claims, it was alleged that a Native American tribe’s casino development deal fell through as a result of anticompetitive conduct (market allocation and boycott/refusal to deal) by two gaming companies/developers and a Native American tribe.

Alan P. Meister served as the antitrust economics expert on behalf of the defendants, and in rebuttal to an expert for the plaintiff. Dr. Meister opined on the relevant market, market power, and harm to competition. Robert S. Knudsen served as defendants damages expert and in rebuttal to plaintiff’s damages expert.

The case was settled soon after Dr. Meister and Mr. Knudsen provided deposition testimony.
