Nathan London assisted OECD’s Development Assistance Committee (DAC) in preparing two influential guides on policies and processes necessary for pro-poor growth: Promoting Pro-Poor Growth and Accelerating Pro-Poor Growth Through Private Sector Development.

Used by the staff of donor agencies and governments, the guides describe what must be in place to bring about a sustainable pace and pattern of growth, the relationship between reducing economic and other forms of poverty, and how empowering the poor can help give rise to appropriate policies.

They also integrate policy guidance developed by the DAC on private sector development, infrastructure, agriculture, and social protection.

The OECD DAC endorsed and published the guides, which have shaped how bilateral donors such as SIDA, Dutch Cooperation, GTZ, and DFID approach private sector development.
