Dr. Robert H. Sims specializes in economic analysis in mass tort, public policy, and contractual disputes and litigation. His mass tort expertise includes the preparation of pending and future asbestos liability estimates for a variety of purposes including SEC disclosure, due diligence in merger and acquisition projects, corporate reorganization, and insurance policy negotiations. Dr. Sims has qualified and testified over 60 times as an expert economic witness in California Superior Courts and U.S. Federal Courts regarding benefit and cost valuation in tort litigation and contractual disputes.
Dr. Sims’ public policy litigation experience covers a wide variety of substantive issues and industry experience. These cases include disputes regarding local housing regulations, public welfare systems, racial discrimination in the criminal justice system, government contracting and hiring, systematic ballot defacement, and public school closures.
Prior to joining Nathan, Dr. Sims was a managing director at HR&A, Inc. and an economist at Merrill Lynch Valuation Services and the RAND Corporation.
