Oktay Akkus analyzes the economic impact of price-fixing, monopolization, and other anticompetitive behavior in industries such as consumer electronics, transportation equipment manufacturing, health care, chemical manufacturing, and semiconductor manufacturing. His experience includes building predictive models, conducting simulations, and performing cost-benefit analyses.

Dr. Akkus has assessed the economic impact of new products in the pharmaceutical industry, supported the examination of a proposed acquisition in professional sports for compliance with antitrust law, and helped devise and improve a model for predicting asbestos claims. He has written and presented research on industrial organization analyzing the determinants of bank mergers and the determinants of underpricing in initial public offerings.
