Ms. McCarty is an international development professional with over 25 years of experience. Over the course of her career, she has managed approximately 50 programs/projects of all sizes and scope in both the US and abroad. Managing operations for politically complex programs has been central to the positions she held.
As the Deputy Vice President of Administration for the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI), Ms. McCarty was responsible for managing day-to-day operations and overseeing accounting, human resources, IT, office management and operations/security. In this position and as a member of the executive office, she worked with each team to put in place an administrative structure that would effectively support program operations and growth. During her tenure, NDI grew from an organization with 10 field offices to over 60 with Ms. McCarty establishing the necessary policies, procedures, and tools for effective and efficient program operations.
Ms. McCarty also has long-term overseas experience having served for five years as the Chief of Party for a USAID program in Sudan/South Sudan funded and as Team Leader for a Palladium DFID funded program in Tanzania.
