John Simon has more than 30 years of broad-based experience in assessing, managing, and mitigating issues associated with hazardous sites. He is responsible for directing environmental projects throughout the U.S. His areas of expertise include remediation, due diligence, environmental insurance, liability risk transfer, and environmental management.
Mr. Simon, who has evaluated and conducted thousands of remediation projects and has served as editor-in-chief of the Remediation Journal since 1996, is considered a thought leader in the remediation industry. Mr. Simon routinely provides expert services in litigation matters, including deposition and trial testimony.
On behalf of private equity firms, banks, and corporations, Mr. Simon directs environmental due diligence programs and environmental aspects of acquisition agreements. These transactions have ranged from single sites to corporate transactions valued above $1 billion. Mr. Simon also has experience in environmental insurance matters from both claims and underwriting perspectives.
Mr. Simon previously served as executive vice president at WSP Environment & Energy. He is the task group lead for the ASTM Greener Cleanup Standard and the President Emeritus of Sustainable Remediation Forum.
