The Government of Jordan sought advice from Nathan on the development of an LNG import terminal at Aqaba. At the outset of the project, a Nathan team member reviewed the technical requirements of the LNG port; the possible LNG supply options and forecast pricing; the project contractual and commercial structure; the legal and regulatory requirements; and the appropriate procurement strategy for the government. The team member negotiated all of the supporting project agreements including floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) time charter party and LNG supply agreements, and helped the government manage the project’s implementation. The terminal commissioning took place on schedule in June 2015. Since then, the project has evolved to assist the Government of Jordan in procurement of an additional 18 cargos a year.
