Labor Economics & Personal Damages

In determining liability and estimating economic damages involving livelihood—employment, promotion, earnings, and working conditions—Nathan Associates’ experts analyze vast amounts of data in order to detect patterns and determine their significance. To investigate claims of employment discrimination or improper compensation, we:

  • Conduct statistical and econometric analysis of personnel and payroll databases,
  • Access Census data and other publicly available sources of information,
  • Examine internal and external labor pools, and
  • Analyze applicant flows and wage determinations.

In some cases, we manage large time-clock databases with observations numbering in the hundreds of millions. To calculate economic loss resulting from personal damages, our labor economists:

  • Estimate life and worklife expectancies;
  • Forecast earnings, fringe benefits, and personal consumption expenditures; and
  • Project the costs of alternative care scenarios and future medical costs.

Our experts have been engaged in matters concerning employment discrimination, wage and hours disputes, and personnel damages, involving individuals and class/collective actions, as well as other complex litigation involving employment, medical malpractice, and wrongful injury or death. Our clients benefit from our rigorous economic analysis and our concise, persuasive presentations.
