The National Administration of Ports of Uruguay (ANP) signed a 20-year concession contract with Grupo Christophersen subsidiary Obrinel S.A. to develop a grain terminal at the Port of Montevideo. The concession includes 8 hectares of land and water rights to build a berthing quay and a dedicated berthing area.

Obrinel’s terminal will be a modern export facility comparable to other automated grain terminals. This new facility will create potential for new production areas in the interior of the country and provide easier access to deeper waters, ultimately increasing Uruguay’s grain exports.

Nathan Associates’ market analysis for the terminal included short and medium-term cargo volume forecasts, an assessment of the new terminal’s planned productivity and capacity, and a competitive analysis of neighboring ports. Obrinel used our study to conclude technical studies and secure financing.
