Nathan analyzed plans for hydroelectric stations proposed by Generadora San Mateo SA and Generadora San Andrés SA in Huehuetenango, Guatemala. The planned capacity of the San Mateo station is 19.1 megawatts and 9.7 megawatts for the San Andrés station, with combined annual production of 164,387 megawatt hours. Nathan was contracted by the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC), to perform due diligence and to advise banks on the technical, commercial, financial, and regulatory aspects of both hydroelectric projects. Nathan reviewed energy and revenue projections from the banks, ensuring that the construction complied with international regulations, examined contracts, identified potential risks, and evaluated financial models.

As a result of this analysis, the IIC hired Nathan as independent engineers to monitor the construction phase of the project. Nathan reviewed engineering and construction regulations, operating agreements, financial models, and other critical documents. The Nathan team also verified schedules, budgets, permits, contracts, properties, and operating cash to ensure the project is finished on time and within budget.
