On November 1, Nathan Associates will begin work on the US-APEC Technical Assistance to Advance Regional Integration (US-ATAARI) Project. Chief of Party Victoria Waite will lead the five-year, US$26.9 million project, directing activities that support APEC?s three “pillars”: trade and investment liberalization, business facilitation, and economic and technical cooperation.

The USAID-funded project will focus intensively on strengthening the ability of the APEC Secretariat and developing member economies to advance regional economic integration and achieve the Bogor Goals. In 1994, APEC members agreed that developed economy members would meet goals for free and open trade and investment by 2010 and that developing economy members would meet those goals by 2020. APEC currently has 21 members.

The firm’s team will be based in both Singapore and Washington, D.C., and will build on the achievements of the APEC Technical Assistance and Training Facility, the predecessor project also managed by Nathan Associates.
