Frequently Asked Questions
What qualifications should I meet to be a consultant?
We seek consultants to work on projects for funding agencies, private sector groups, USAID, the World Bank, and other development banks. Clients publish requests for proposals with scopes of work and terms of reference (i.e., descriptions of position requirements). You should have the expertise—a combination of experience and education—required by the scope of work and the terms of reference. If you have recently graduated with a bachelor's degree and have little experience in your field, becoming a consultant will be a challenge. Most clients require at least five years of experience relevant to the project.
What do I have to do to be considered for consulting assignments with Nathan Associates Inc.?
Create a profile in our consultant registry and upload your most recent CV. Fill out your profile with complete contact information, areas of technical expertise, regional experience, language, and donor experience. If you are responding to a job posting, select the position under Current Open Positions listed at the bottom of the registration form.
What do you need to see on my CV?
The CV should describe your expertise and highlight important information—education, relevant experience, language proficiency, citizenship. The more specific the information, the better chance we have of making a match. It's a good idea to provide details on training, postgraduate coursework, and certifications. Attach your CV to your consultant profile and be sure to update it as you gain experience.
What happens to my CV after Nathan Associates receives it?
All new entries to the consultant registry are reviewed and approved by our recruitment team. Once your CV is in the system, it will come to our attention if your skills, experience, education, and/or training match those required by the project or proposal. Be thorough in completing your profile so we can identify your qualifications and expertise.
When can I expect a response?
We contact consultants (1) when we need more information and (2) when their qualifications match those required by a solicitation or project. Positions do not open up daily, but we contact potential consultants as positions open, so keep your contact information up to date—don’t forget to bookmark our website.
